80s Dance

We had an 80s style dance night. It was a lot of fun, of course though I did not attend the dance but I did go shopping with friends. We went to Goodwill to find some cheap 80s style clothes. It was so funny to see everyone get all dressed up. We went over to Laura's room as usual before the dance. In this picture there is Meg, Kirby, Ar, Dani, Sanna, Laura and Roise. All of them are my soroity sisters except Roise....he's just our friend.

College Life

If you have gone to college then I am sure you or someone you know has forgotten about food for a little while. Well this piece of cheesecake is no exception to that rule. This is from Meg's birthday at the end of Januray! It is now the end of Feburary. This piece actually wasn't in that bad of shape, probably because our fridge is capable of frezzing anything. Luckily we didn't have to clean it out, haha we made the pledges do it! lol

Day 41- Gingerbread Massacre

So this past weekend two of my soroity sister went to a Greek Conference in CT, in which they meet all different greeks from across the country. Some greeks were national and some were local like Omega Chi. There they learned a different meaning behind being greek. But they brought us back these posters, which we all thought was hillarious. They are supposed to be anti-hazing posters. Apparetnly we are all gingerbread men with no legs. Is this poster saying that if you deicde to pledge a greek that you will lose your legs?

Day 40- The Comfy, Cozy Side that I live In.

So this is my side of the room. Nothing too special here, just a bunch of posters and pictures. I think that out of all my friends I am the one with the most decorations on my wall. What can I say, if im going to sit in a small dorm room might as well make the walls interesting to look at. My favorite poster is the MC Esher one because people dont realize how messed up it is until about maybe the 8th time looking at it. Haha its so funny to listen to people when they finaly realize what the picture acutally is.

Day 39- My Room

So this is my room, although its a tad bit messy here. I love my room, there is a lot of open space and its perfect for chilling with friends. On of the things that I like about this room is that the shades are built into the windows, so say you only want a bit a light you can close one shade on one section of the window. Its really a neat idea. I love the fact that the sun shines in the room all day long. From 10am till it sets. And the best thing is that I can watch the sun set every day from my desk. My bed is too the right of the picture. But yeah its basically a kick ass room!

Day 38- The Other Side

This is Sanna and Lizzy's side of the room. Not to much to say about it, other than the fact that our whole dorm is Omega Chi-ed out! Haha I love it.

Day 37- The Common Room

I figured for this week I would show you where I live. And since my sisters keep asking me to send them pictures, I guess this is the best place to put it. So this is the common room, right when you walk in. We have a food pantry, a fridge, a couch, 2 closets (one a coat closet and they other we use as a ultilty closet). You can also see where our bathroom sink is and straight across from thesink is the bathroom and shower. I love our common room now that we have a couch in it, it makes the room more functional and its nice especailly if people are in my room and I just want to do homework. Napping on the couch is nice too, its soo comfy.

Day 36- Absorb Knowledge

The best way to cram before a test is to jsut sleep on the material.

Day 35- Going to work Hard

Tuesday I started physical theapry and this time I am determined to do it right. I don't want to end up with a messed up elbow in the long run. You don't realize how much each muscule and bones are connected until you have broken something and need to go to theapry for it. Like when you turn your wrist you are actually twisting two bones around. It's amazing how our body works.

Day 34- Trip to the Lake

The day was so nice and warm that Lizzy, KV, Debbie and I decied to walk down to the lake. We sat in the little gazebo and just marveled at the fact that it was finally nice out.

Day 33- What Every Dorm Room Needs.

Saturday night Debbie brought up a couch!

We tossed it down in the common room and it hasn't moved yet. We do plan to move it but we just haven't yet, its in a perfect spot really. THe couch makes the common room more of a useful place. Right now we have a food pantry, a fridge and 2 pillers and a gaint lion statue. So the common room we just walked through but now we have a reason to be out there, the couch is really comfy. Sunday after we came back from breakfast, we went around 11:30, I lied down on the couch and listened to Lizzy play the guitar. I have decided that every dorm room needs a couch, its so much fun!

Day 32- Music

Friday Meg picked up one of our other roommates guitars and starting playing a song Sanna had taught her the day before. It was very good for being her second time playing.

Day 31- Lovely Way to End the Day

Thursday after classes were finshed I was sitting in my room with Lizzy and Brain, when Brain remarked that I had an amazing view. He is totally right, my new room faces the sunset perfectly. Actually after he said that, I opened up my window and snapped this shot. It was so beatiful, the colors were amazing but of course this picture could never capture it. At the end of the day it is nice just to sit at my desk and watch the sunset.

Day 30- Valentine Day Sale

Tuesday all my soroirty sisters and I gathered in the quad in Centinal. We made chocolate roses for a Valentine's Day fundrasier. First you take a reeses cup and then a hersehy kiss and put them onto of each other and then place it on a dowel and wrap red plastic over it and then use floral tape to make the stem. It was a lot of fun, the first night we made the flowers it was Eems, Debbie and I and then Kirby and Meg came. We made a little assembly line to make them all. It was fun. The sale went great and we made over 100 dollars. Next we are going to do it again hopefully, everyone enjoyed it.

Day 29- Cast Off!!

Tuesday my cast came off! It was aweosme, they took a little sae and cut through my cast. It tickled me so much. After they cut the cast off, the doctor pried open the cast and then cut of the white part. So my cast only consists of the outer red part. Of course I kept the cast, I worked so hard to get everyone to sign it that I just had to keep it.

Day 28- Fake Spring

The day was perfect, almost 50 degrees. A great day to walk down to the barns. My friend Brittany and I decieded to walk down there since it was amazingly warm out. There is a shortcut to get from the farm area back to the main campus, and this shortcut involves crossing the train tracks. The tracks run straight through campus, we even have a dinky little train station on campus. I love walking on the tracks, it is one of my favorite things to make my friends do. Most of them have never riden on a train before, so for them walking the tracks is scary. But for me it's just good ol' fun.

Day 27- Kicking it Old School!

Saturday was the perfect day to go outside and play. That and the fact that DelVal is extremly boring on the weekends. It was Debbie, Lizzy, Sanna, Roise and I and we spent about 20 minutes trying to find a park around us, when Debbie found something called Kid Castle and it's only 5 minutes away!! So we hopped in the car and drove over to it but when we got there, there was way too may little kids there. So we opted not to go to the awesome playground and instead went to the Covered Bridge Park. And let me tell you, we had way too much fun at this park. This park had all the old school stuff that we grew up with. It had a merry-go-round! I haven't seen one of those since I was 5. We probably spent most of the time on that alone. The park had the old school metal slide, the bars at 3 different heights, see-saws!, swings and just amazing cool stuff. Although I did not take this picture, it captured the day the best! On the merry-go-round you have Me, Lizzy, Roise and Sanna, it was so hard to hold one, especially with only one arm. lol The park was all muddy because the snow had started to melt but we are definalty going to go back in the spring!

Day 26- The Boxers

The Boxers. It has become a common pharse with my friends. "Hey you wanna go to the boxers?" We all get exicted and jump into our shoes and coats. The boxers is Meg's job, one of my soroity sisters, and basically she goes and takes care of these dogs everyday. Right the dogs are stuck in cages downstairs because it is too cold for them to be outside. So everyday Meg goes and refills the water buckets and food buckets. She lets them out and cleans the cages. The lady, infamously known as the boxer lady, breeds the dogs. There are about 8 or so of them; lets see there is JayJay who is slighty retarted, Savanah, Shilo 1 and 2, Sassy, Montana, Valentine who is pictured above and Phantom. They are all really sweet, although the boys are really tough. But really that is the highlight of any day when I go there. I always do the water buckets, which involve taking it out of every cage and dumping it into this hole in the floor, I think its like a water pump system and then I fill them back up with a convient hose in the ceiling. Debbie always feeds them, Meg has to let them out because she knows which ones get along with which. But that is The Boxers.

Day 25- Irish

Thursday was my baby cousin's birthday! He is turning 1. Tonight for rush week we had a hot cocoa social. We were goning to have a bonfire too but it was crazy cold out, so we opted not too. The night was fun we made hot cocoa and hot apple cider. We also played a variety of games like guitar hero, Luara brought her wii. But overall it was a successful event.
Although this picture has nothing to do with what I did that day, I just like the picture. I haven't been able to wear it since I got my cast on. This ring was given to my sister from my anut who got it from her mom. So it has been passed down but never worn. It is an oddly sized ring, it is too big for my pointer finger and slighty too small for my ring finger. But I still wear it, I really like band on it and overall it is the perfect claddagh ring for me.

Day 24- Omega Dodgeball

Tonight for rush week IGC (Inter-Greek Council) hosted a Dodgeball Tourument. All the greeks came out with their rushes and get soroity and frat got paired up. Of course we ended up with our brothers Zeta Chi, we love them to death but those are not the toughtest in the room at all. So we ended up not doing that well, we lost all 4 games that we played. I didn't play because of my arm but it was cool to watch. In the picture (out of my sisters) Kirby, Laura, Heather, Meg, Sanna and Dawn's lovely head sticking up there.

Day 23- The Lamp Post

The snow was falling all day, it started in the morning but didn't end up sticking until 4ish. It looked so beatiuful, and within ten seconds of walking outside you would end up covered in snow all already. As I was walking back to work, I stopped outside of Fledman and looked up at this lamp. It reminds me of the Lamp post in Narina when the girl first walks intothe forest; and it is all snowy and she first sees the lamp post.
For rush week on tuesday we were going to go to a pool hall but because the roads were getting dangerous we opted to not go. Instead we used goldman lounge and played pool there. It was a lot of fun but I somehow got surrounded by everyone after sitting in one of the chairs. It ended up being story time lol.

Day 22- Rush Omega Chi!

Monday was our first rush event. We went to New Brunswick Zone, which had an acarde, a bolwing alley, and Lazer Tag! Which I played for the first time that night. It was so much fun, we had sisters vs. the rushes and we crushed them by over a 1,000 points! It was a lot of fun, although the round was only 7 minutes long. After a round of lazer tag we played in the acarde. Pretty much every acarde has one of these, it's where you toss the ball up a ramp and try to get it in different holes worth various points. Well a couple of our rushes were playing and somehow Sanna, one of my soroity sisters, climbed up under the cage part to put a ball in the 100,000 points spot.
Oh the crazy things we do!

Day 21- Lazy Day

My favorite picture of Marlow.
